1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game "Glifio - AI Emoji Puzzle" ("Glifio", "the app", "we") collects, uses and protects your information when you play the game on Android or iOS.

By using Glifio you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Data we collect

You can play Glifio as a guest without creating an account. Depending on how you use the app, we process the following data:

  • Guest play: a randomly generated identifier stored on your device. It is not linked to your name, phone number or any real-world identity.
  • Optional sign-in with Google or Apple: your account identifier, display name and email address as provided by the sign-in provider, used to secure your progress across devices.
  • Profile data: your chosen nickname, avatar and cosmetic selections (frames, keyboard themes, victory effects).
  • Game statistics: experience points (XP), coins, level, owned items, recently played words, category performance, daily challenge results and streaks.
  • Multiplayer data: temporary room and participation information (room code, scores, round results) while you play with others.

3. Data we do NOT collect

Glifio does not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data.

The app internally hashes puzzle content (language, word, category, difficulty) to avoid showing you the same puzzle twice. This mechanism identifies puzzles, not people, and is not device fingerprinting.

4. Third-party services

Glifio relies on the following third-party services, which may process data on our behalf:

  • Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Realtime Database (Google LLC) — account linking, saving game progress and running multiplayer rooms. See Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google AdMob — displays ads (for example, optional rewarded ads for extra energy). AdMob may use your device’s advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. See https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.
  • Google Gemini API — generates puzzle content. Only puzzle parameters (topic, language, difficulty) are sent; no personal data is included in these requests.

5. Advertising ID and your choices

You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalization at any time in your device settings: on Android under Settings → Google → Ads, and on iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising.

6. Data retention and deletion

Account-linked data is kept for as long as your account is active. Guest data lives primarily on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

You can request deletion of your cloud-stored data (profile, statistics, linked account) at any time by emailing support@glifio.app. We will process verified requests within 30 days.

7. Children

Glifio is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing.

9. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in Firebase services protected by access rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page.
